This post is about nails and well douchiness.
Are you following me on twitter? No, that's ok because I'm about to regurgitate it here.

In August:

L-R: Nails Stamps and Crackle Polish

L-R: Dots with a band of of gold foil nail ribbon, crushed shells (yes as in actual crushed sheels)

L-R: Sakura Nail stamps, two coloured nail stamps, matching crackle toes

lol I called them Jungle nails, the shiny polish fades into the matt green. You can't see the gradient nor the actual shade of green though :(
Those are fimo

A little blurry but these are my sister's (she's the one that does my nails)
L-R: Fimo and cookies painted on, rockstar nails? they looked better when the sides were cleaned up, and marbling

This week:

This week I got her to marble my nails.

HecklerSpray this morning made me laugh.
"Rolling Stone, that bastion of cocking arsewipes has decided that not
only do they have the self-congratulated intelligence to judge what is
good, and what is bad, but they’ve even decided to tell everyone what
their opinion is."

It's funny and ironic since this is exactly what HecklerSpray does. However, it's mostly funny because it's true.

And now it's time for me to work. :(
One of my co-workers edited an application that we use to manage projects (timelines and assigned tasks, etc).
It did what she wanted butttt after you create a project but you can't edit the project (an error pops up). Rather than say she had no idea what the heck she was doing, she tried to convince us that we shouldn't be editing projects. Granted you shouldn't be changing project names, but why wouldn't you want to update the status?
The thing is she said it with such certainty that you would think that she actually believed it.
When people make up strange things as fact.. ugh. I just don't even know what to say, I've never been articulate.
It's just as bad as that chick that told me YamaP was no longer the person she knew, and yet in over the 100 words she typed to me, couldn't list a single reason (even though she said she listed it elsewhere; only certain YamaP fans would understand >_> ).
Yeah typing all that crap is far better than just copying and pasting your reasons from elsewhere.

Oh Oh! I was looking at an olddd Seto pimp post I had done, I wasn't into K-pop then and even when I looked at Full House I didn't remember that I had translated that. So even though D-Date was supposed to have a collab with Choshinsei, and even though he's probably done drugs with G-Dragon, I'm just going to pretend he's a SHINee fan.

LOL! Seto's kpop connections have filled you with glee.

I wish Universal would try to get that concert going again. It would make a nice fund-raiser for Tohoku, and I want that D-DATE/Choshinsei collaboration still.

You have such patience with your nails. I can barely be bothered to clip and buff mine on a timely basis.

Yeah and Yuichi was only learning Korean b/c he's a SHINee fan too. #delusions

I hope they still do it, one of the things about the recent WAE post made me think about how much help is still needed. :(

Well Samantha does it for me XD
So I don't need patience!

I like the shell and sakura nail versions. :)

Always wanted to comment that Koji meant the US comedy series "Full House". :D

That's very strange since everything else he listed was Korean, BoA, etc.
Do you have a link to an article that says otherwise?

There's a gold crackle coming out for OPI and muppet colours!

I like the sakura one, but it looked better when we had used white to stamp and the quality of the pic is poor here :(

Wha ~ I still wonder how people can do such beautiful nails! (>w<) I wish I'd have 'nicer' nails so that I could do something with them as well, but it seems like I'm not the type for it. xD' It takes a lot of time doesn't it? When are you doing it?

I must be lucky still being a student. xD' Work seems to busy everyone around me. D: But I hope you aren't too stressed due to it and can follow your fandom! xDDD

K-pop came within a blink into one of my friends and I didn't like that because she's all over it now - she forgot about J-pop and that's soo sad! D: I'm happy you still are into J-business. (^^) Let's be one of those who can have a multi fandom! xDDD

You could try fake nails? I've never used it but it might be fun.

I don't miss being a student (I love money!!!)

Maybe she'll come back to kpop?
Yes! Let's! I don't understand how come people can only like one band or one idol.
lol Maybe I'm just greedy?

Date: 2012-01-04 04:17 pm (UTC)
From: [identity profile]
Yeah, I really should try doing at least something with my nails. I think this will be really fun, once you started, right? :3

Haha, I wish I could earn money yet, too... I feel so poor. xD But it's difficult to get something... One day I'll be loving money too! xDDD Because with it you can do so so much ~ x'3

I don't know but she's busy with Uni now. She won't come into fandom that much now either - except for favorite groups and actor/actress.

I can't understand that either. Why can't they be more like us? Liking the whole group but having one special person? I don't get that - it's like you wouldn't know the goup. D: Haha, if you were greedy - there would be quite a lot greedy people. xDDD

I found it logical that he meant the US series, because he is using it as "wake-up call". The intro of the Korean series is very boring, nothing for getting out of bed. XD Also, the serie was running on NTV in January 2007, a time when Koji had no TV. Whereas the US series was running on NHK until 1995. It´s part of his childhood memories (like mine *lol*). He once mentioned that he grew up with US TV Series and Disney, but I don´t remember which interview it was. If you look up 海外ドラマ『フルハウス』のテーマ曲, you find "Everywhere You Look" right away. => :D

ohhhh I thought you had like actual proof like a magazine quote or something.

From: [identity profile]
Well, the way he said it was clear, I thought. Would he have been aware that there are two series, he would have differed and said "the korean series" not just "the overseas series", presuming everyone knew what he is talking about. The comedy "Full House" was very popular in Japan (worldwide) afterall.

Also, looking it up, the Korean series doesn´t even have a title song, only a instrumental Intro and Image songs for the characters. *lol*

Proof enough? :P

well just as easily specified 西部 or rather 西洋.

You can sit around arguing which is was, but we can never know, until you meet him and ask.
The Korean one aired in 2007, twice so it's possible equally possible he saw that.
I'm sticking with what I have, 1. no one is reading it
2. I stated that I was assuming it's the Korean one.

I just hope that you're not saying my Moonlight Sonata alarm is bad cuz it's instrumental ^_~
But, it's theme song is called Fate (Un myong sounds a lot like Unmei).

BTW, I think I is great song, i feel in love with in when I had watched the drama. I think I'll go re-listen to it for the 50th time XD
you should give it a try~

Fate ( <= was the song I first listened to when you brought up the korean series back then. I was confused because I couldn´t find a source that offically named it as theme song and the OST has an instrumental piece titled "Full House". I still find it unlikely for one of these two to be used as alarm. ^_^

Word-for-word examined did Koji use 海外ドラマ (International Drama), which refers directly to western produced series, with focus on US shows, that are broadcasted worldwide. While for Korean drama 韓国ドラマ or 韓流ドラマ is being used. (海外ドラマ)

The wake-up alarm is the theme song of the US series "Full House".

西洋 is common to referring to the west and western countries. 西部 means west too, but is more used to address certain parts in the west (部 = part).

Oh I thought this had ended.
I think there was a miscommunication somewhere.

I don't think you read that entire wiki post.
The article starts off my saying "日本以外、特に欧米" - Outside of Japan, primarily stuff from America and Europe (欧米)"
Primarily does not mean entirely.

It also ends by saying that in this category, in recent year that Asian dramas in particular, Korean and Taiwan dramas, now account for a larger share.
This part tells that that on the whole foreign drama watching has increased.
Are you telling me that they said Western drama watching decreased and Korean/Taiwanese dramas increase. But overall foreign drama watching INCREASED if Korean dramas were not included?
Of course if in pre-1990s if 洋ドラ were the majority of 海外ドラマ then the words would have been used synonymously, but that's no longer been the case, judging from that, for nearing a decade.

Totally confused about the last part?
"well just as easily specified 西部 or rather 西洋"
If I said "or rather" doesn't that indicate to you and anyone reading that I show that there's a preference for the latter?
Or are you explaining back to me what I just said?
I included 西部 because as you said it does me The West as 西部劇 refers to Western film genre.

I cannot believe I'm having a conversation over Seto's ringtone from 3 years ago when he's probably changed it dozens of times. It's actually quite sad.

Well, maybe we don´t get our wires crossed, I´m not sure. What I understand from you, is that you would count korean drama under 海外ドラマ? Which is not the case, because they are produced in korea and not in the west. Nobody in Japan would ever call a korean drama 海外ドラマ. Because they are aware, that these aren´t asian actors, settings or stories.

I don´t try to make it more complicated, just stating that in Japan they commonly call western tv series 海外ドラマ (International Drama) and 韓国ドラマ / 韓流ドラマ (Korean Drama) which makes it very easy to understand that he was simply referring to a US series. More I didn´t wanted to say from the start. That´s all. *lol*

And yes, I read the full article and understand it. Even japanese TV channel still make a difference between international hit-series (Glee, House, CSI etc.) and taiwanese, chinese or korean drama. Which is interesting, because they could also simply use the term "asian drama". But no, until now remain these terms unchanged. This has nothing to do with an increasing audience, because the shows are simply not produced in the west. So they will still be called by their homeland name.

Well, I don´t find it sad, but interesting to talk about. *lol*
