Duet: Yanagi and Endo
May. 27th, 2008 04:43 pm![[personal profile]](https://www.dreamwidth.org/img/silk/identity/user.png)
Endo and Yanagi aka D-boys Leader and sub-leader.
I don’t really like doing current articles (I make it sound as though I’ve been doing articles forever). Endo tries to say “bicycle” as many times as he can in one article without letting anyone know he has nothing else going on in his life. Yanagi is all about the gym.. I mean, Family Communication and the role burping plays
Yuuya Endou
Recently, I’ve been shooting for the lead role in Shakariki, so I’ve been riding my bicycle non-stop. [1] Even before the start of filming, I went to Tateyama in
For over three months, I was always on my bicycle.
Lodging together with D-boys’ (Suzuki) Hiroki and Channaka (Nakamura Yuuichi),
Daifugou [2] was popular. Err, one of our co-stars was a comedian and so we’d play the “Don’t laugh game”.
It’s a batsu game [3], where the punishment was done by all members, but, we’d have practice the next day and it became a hindrance. Midway, we stopped. (laugh)
For shooting my lines in Kansai-ben[4] were difficult.
My father is from Kansai, so I grew accustomed to hearing it from a young age, but, hearing and speaking are two absolutely different things.
The director would say “If you’re paying (too much) attention to your intonation so you can’t concentrate on the acting, your kansai-ben still won’t be any good.” and (then)
I wouldn’t be as conscious and was able to act.
On days off, we’d still get on our bicycles. (laugh)
At work, if I could get on my beloved bicycle, I would be incredibly happy.
But, for filming I couldn’t go at my own pace.
Recently, I bought a second one that’s a Pist (pistokure, a professional racing bicycle [5]) and would ride about Harajuku and Shibuya with friends, go shopping and talk about clothes.
Like this, this time spent hanging out and talking with friends about stuff I liked, I guess this is my relaxation.
Yanagi Koutarou
Right now, my current boom[6], is being tired and going to the gym.
Actually, up until recently, I was doing the stage “Memories 3”. At the wrap party, I ended up with a fever.
From June 20th, I’ll be doing D-boys’ D-Stage Volume 2 so I won’t be able to go to the gym on a regular basis. Usually, after hitting the sandbag for three rounds I’ll get tired, but, now, I can manage about 9 rounds. Although, after about 4 rounds when I started thinking about going home, my trainer said “Hit my mitt”, I declined, then, just as I expected, muscular pain.
It’s good to (face) the things you can’t do saying “I can do it, but, at the times when you’re (too) tired, it’s better to not overdo it.
Parents often say things like, “impossible is forbidden” [7], but this goes in one ear and through the other. The things parents say aren’t usually heeded.
Everyone, you should listen to your parents.
And now, what I want to talk about is Family communication, in short famikomyu. It’s very important. I’ll be discussing famikomyu properly
For example, at home, when dinner arrives, you should greet it with “Mother”.
Then, when (she) says “What?” you should look her in the eye and say “Itadakimasu”. [8]
This is “mother communication”.
Of course, after the meal, you should look her in the eye and say, “Gouchisousama”. [9]
And then grin, and then mom will grin.
This is the most important thing of all.
[1] I know what you’re thinking, it’s already the first line and I’m doing this. But, this line was really got going over well in English. It literally says that he’s been getting on his bike “with reckless abandon” while shooting.
[2] A trump card game.

[3] Penalty game
[4] http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kansai-ben
[5] http://www.jitensha-life.net/pist/
[6] what he’s into lately.
[7] he uses “muri” for both “not to overdo it” and “nothing is impossible” or rather “never say never”. When you’re watching a drama next time, watch out for this, they say it A LOT, usually in the way we’d say “no way!”.
[8] Thanks for the food.
[9] Literally “it was a feast”
[x] hahaha I lied about the burping, sorry.
Thanks to Stefy for the article and for checking back some of the kanji for me. Clearly even with big scans, I am blind.

Date: 2008-05-27 04:10 pm (UTC)I prefer to do older ones that definitely can't be bought, this is the June edition so it's probably not on sale anymore so I did it.

Date: 2008-05-27 04:07 pm (UTC)I was hoping my joke about the 'Ode to my bycicle' wouldn't be correct but alas... XD
Oh Yuyan, you lonely workaholic Yuyan XDDD
And Yanagi... ah, it's beautiful to have things you can always count on.
One of them is Yanagi randomness XD
'I'm tired, so I'll go the gym!'. Yes Yanagi, good idea *pets*
And the out-of-the-blue family bit?!?
XDDD

Date: 2008-05-27 04:15 pm (UTC)he meant them as two separate things though!
I'm guessing a lot of his fans must be around age 10 for them to need this lesson.

Date: 2008-05-27 04:20 pm (UTC)Yeah but still... 'You want me to talk about what I'm doing lately? Ok... but wait, no! This is boring, I wanna talk about my mom!' XDDD
LOL! I have a feeling 10 years old kids would be terrified by Yanagi xDDD

Date: 2008-05-27 04:22 pm (UTC)Maybe he regrets all the trouble he gave her when he was a fully abled-bodied being.
lol noo they would love him.

Date: 2008-05-27 04:26 pm (UTC)LOL, that must be it... plus his mom is a nurse so she probably helped him a lot during rehabilitation.

Date: 2008-05-29 02:01 am (UTC)I don't like Massu more. I just can't find a Yoko icon. I stole this Massu icon from my friends pendrive. There was no Yoko in the pendrive!

Date: 2008-05-28 12:41 am (UTC)So does that mean there will be parts in the movie that he'll speak really really fast since those who speak kansai-ben tend to slip off when they're talking?
when dinner arrives, you should greet it with “Mother”.
What?? You eat your mother for dinner?
Thank you so much for translating! ♥♥♥

Date: 2008-05-28 10:07 am (UTC)It's so cute he called his father "ojisan" XD
But, I was happy to hearing his say that listening and speaking are two different things, because while slowly I'm beginning to grasp words in dramas, when I open my mouth the words don't came out the way I want them too ;_;

Date: 2008-05-28 10:39 am (UTC)And then...yes, it's cute that he called him that!! :D
Ahh, but your understanding is there at least *huggles* it's nice to hear him say that, though :)

So you can still see Endo bounce up and down in really tight tights. XD
But, I mean it, Endo is cute, but, it's boring.

Date: 2008-05-28 11:15 am (UTC)Endou Y is really good at acting. Wow...
I wish he had more, bigger, roles, but I'm just glad he's in that period drama that's on now...

Date: 2008-05-28 11:28 am (UTC)I want to see Endo's bits in AtsuHime, but, I don't want to watch 50 episodes :(
no subject
Date: 2008-05-29 02:27 am (UTC)Me too, I completely agree. I want to see him too, but ...the show is just too long D:
I should watch Zettai Kareshi for Kaji, right...apart from the storyline. Is it the robot-boyfriend show? :D
no subject
Date: 2008-05-30 07:52 pm (UTC)Did you finish it? I don't remember what it was based on, I don't think it was a manga. Ah getting old D:
yep that's the robot boyfriend show, do you want links to it? or would you rather torrents?
There's not much kaji though so I would probably give an episode or two a try and then decide if you want to keep watching it.
no subject
Date: 2008-05-31 07:28 am (UTC),...no, I didn't finish it. I think it was based on a manga indeed.
